Q: How should you clean natural stones?
A: A gentle soap and water or a vinegar/natural based cleaning product are best, but it is okay to use safe chemical-based cleaning products. We do not advise using harsh chemicals.
Q: How should natural stones be sealed?
A: Since natural stones are porous, it's advised you seal every 6 months to a year. If you use gentle products you will not need to seal as much.
Q: Can you damage natural stones?
A: Granite and quartzite are very durable and can withstand heat, scratches, and stains. It hardly chips but it is normal to have microchips that aren't repairable, but will break with excessive weight. Marble can withstand heat, but it can stain and scratch.

Q: How do you maintain quartz?
A: Each brand of quartz has its own maintenance guide. Please see your corresponding brand to see their suggestions.
Q: Do you need to seal quartz?
A: Quartz is a non-porous material, so it doesn't absorb liquids. Therefore when you try to seal, it won't penetrate.
Q: Can you damage quartz?
A: Quartz is chip, scratch, and stain-resistant, but do not place direct heat on it because most quartz can only handle up to 145°F.

Q: What is the difference between prefabricated and custom countertops?
A: Prefabricated countertops are a 2cm material made to look thicker than they are. They require plywood underneath and may warp and break your seam from trapped moisture. With custom countertops, fabricators like us cut a full slab to size to ensure a tight fit, no seamed edges, and are more durable.
Q: Who is responsible for installing my sink?
A: We will install and secure your sink and leave it ready for your plumber to reconnect all of your plumbing.
Q: What does your lead times look like?
A: Lead time depends on material delivery, sink delivery, and other projects in progress. Before you sign the contract, we will give you an estimated installation window, typically a week and a half to two weeks. We place smaller projects in between schedules to have them done sooner.

Q: What kind of warranty do you offer?
A: We offer a 1-year warranty on our labor, meaning our seams, the installation of our sinks, and the installation leveling of your countertops. There are low-quality epoxies out there, so we make sure we use the top of the line so we can offer this warranty.
Q: Why don't you offer a warranty for natural stone material?
A: No one will offer you a warranty for a natural stone since it's a rock, but what we do for our customers is to make sure you are getting high-quality material. When you purchase slabs, we inspect them and look for cracks, epoxy fill-ins, which sometimes are even sunbaked.
Q: Where can I find warranty information about the Quartz I choose?
A: At Mena Stone Surfaces, your sales representative will disclose on the proposal the warranty information for each brand. We will register your warranty and provide that information as soon as your project is complete. You will need to process a claim through the manufacture of your choosing.
